What time is it?

I am reading “Food for the Soul“ with Reflections on the Mass Readings written by Peter Kreeft. The mass readings themselves are from the Holy Bible.

In my reading today, I gained a new perspective of the book of the prophet, Isaiah. Peter Kreeft refers to him as the Shakespear of the bible regarding his writing style. I completely agree. The beauty of the words Isaiah are not for quick reading. They are for tasting, exploring, absorbing. They are certainly worth many returns. Let the words of Isaiah 61:1 gently wash over you.

I don’t quite put complete understanding to those words all together. Maybe I let them change me how they will. God‘s word will not return empty handed. His purpose will be fulfilled.

Fast forward to this day. Feb 3, 2022. How will God’s word change me today? Is today a day it will change me?

Life is a chain of finite moments strung together like a string of beautiful lights. Jesus is the light of the word. He came to change us and stands at the door of your heart and knocks. When is a good time to answer? In the second letter to the Corinthians, chapter 6, verse 2, St. Paul answers the question of when and where is the scripture fulfilled? The answer is now. Answer the door. Today is the day of salvation. Meet Jesus. We have the chance to talk to Jesus right now.
